Date I 10/19/14
Location I Lawrence University Campus
We originally were going to meet Heather and Cort at Cleo’s, a bar in Appleton where they shared their 1st drink. When we walked up to the bar they were closed. Neither of us knew they were closed on Sunday’s. Fortunately when we turned around we bumped into Heather and Cort walking around the corner. We decided on going up the road and taking their pictures at the very picturesque Lawrence University. We had such a great time getting to know this couple and shared many good laughs while taking these pictures.
We asked Heather and Cort a few questions to go along with their engagement photos and would like to share how in love these two are!
How did you meet? Tell us the story?
We both work at Carew Concrete and Supply. We would say hi to each other here and there. One day we started talking more and ended up exchanging phone numbers so we could hang out on the weekend.
Where was your first date? What did you do?
We went to have some drinks at Cleo’s in Appleton. We sat by the front window talking for over six hours not paying attention to the time. We only had one drink in those six hours. Cort was going on a hunting trip and I had to be up early for work but we ended up staying out until 2:30 am.
Tell us about the proposal.
We were up north at Cort’s parents town house in Cable, WI for the week. We went for a bike ride up to Morgan Falls. Then we hiked up to St. Peter’s Dome. I wanted to give up on the hike because it was really long and hard. Cort told me it would be well worth it so I pushed on. When we got to the top the view out over the colorful trees was breathtaking. We were taking pictures of the view. Cort went over to set the timer on the camera. When he came back he got down on one knee and proposed right there at the top of the look out.
Do you have everything in common or do you have things you do not agree about which you poke fun about?
We have everything in common but Cort likes likes to argue even when he knows that I am right. He likes to argue for fun I think.(but its all in fun!)
Question for Cort. What things do you love most about Heather?
I love that when I come home from a long hard day at work she always puts a smile on my face. She always puts others first, especially me when I tell her not to. We enjoy doing all the same things together. Not a lot of couples have that. Also she puts up with me (lol). She is the woman that has been in my mind all of my life. I can not picture my life without her.
Question for Heather. What things do you love most about Cort?
There is not one thing I do not love about Cort. I love how supportive he has been over the last four years. He is my motivation to keep on going even when I do not think I can. I love how he can turn my worst days into my best. I love his personality and sense of humor. There is never a dull moment with him. I love how he makes me feel important like I am the center of his world. He always has time for me and us no matter how busy life gets.
What is the one thing you are looking forward to most on your wedding day besides getting married?
Heather – I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my best friend and soul mate. Someone to start a family with and live a long happy life together.
Cort – I am looking forward to knowing that we are united under God and that our two hearts will become one for the rest of our lives. I am excited to start a family and a new chapter in our lives together.
Congratulations again guys!
